Late Director, Christine E. Gero

​

Christine E. Gero, was an accomplished conductor, violinist, and beloved music educator. She cared deeply for her students, not only mentoring them to develop as musicians, but really encouraging them to be better people.

​

Ms. Gero was known for saying, "I wake up and put one foot down for my child and the other foot down for my students."

​​

She engaged students with a diverse, inclusive professional repertoire and led them to success in national tours and prestigious competitions. Ms. Gero used music to teach bravery, gratitude and the importance of being unapologetically yourself.​​ She leaves behind a profound legacy from having changed countless students' lives during her time at Roosevelt.
