Roosevelt High School Orchestra students are busy packing and preparing for our upcoming trip to New York City to participate in the Live at the Lincoln Center Orchestra Festival Cup. We leave Seattle at 10 p.m. on Wednesday, February 27, 2008 on a red-eye flight to Newark, after which we travel by bus to our hotel in Manhattan. We spend the next four days experiencing the culture and fun of one of the greatest cities on Earth, topped off by a festival performance on the Alice Tully stage at Lincoln Center, home of the New York Philharmonic Orchestra. Our arrival back in Seattle is scheduled for Sunday evening, March 2.
Thank you to all of the parents and students who pitched in on our fundraising activities to make this adventure possible. A special thank you to our trip coordinators, Laura Remme and Lori Aoyama, who both went above and beyond to coordinate car washes, a rummage sale, and other activities, as well as arranging all of the trip details. In addition, Lori Sako earns the orchestra's undying gratitude for the success of her senior project, an online auction with proceeds benefiting our New York trip, as do all of the families who donated or procured items to be auctioned. In short, it took the efforts of many to bring it all together into a grand experience our students will remember for the rest of their lives. We greatly appreciate everybody's support!
Thank you, Mrs. Cribley
We are deeply grateful to Mrs. Marie Cribley for her thoughtful and generous contribution to our scholarship fund. Her gift provided scholarship support for several students who otherwise would not have been able to participate. Thank you, Mrs. Cribley!
